COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 is on our minds. Each day I do a Google search for "COVID 19 counts." Typically I go to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/, which is a pretty good site. Today my search led me to COVID-19 Maps and Visuals at http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/maps-visuals - hosted by my alma mater. This then led me to Coronavirus COVID-19 global cases (Johns Hopkins) at https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594.... I like this one som much I put it in an iframe so we can all stay up to date.
Also the image to the left is transmission electron microscope image showing SARS-CoV-2—also known as 2019-nCoV, the virus that causes COVID-19—isolated from a patient in the U.S. Virus particles are shown emerging from the surface of cells cultured in the lab. The spikes on the outer edge of the virus particles give coronaviruses their name, crown-like.
