Industrial Biotechnology Employers

In industrial biotechnology, microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast, or fungi, are used as cellular factors to produce chemicals or recycle waste. Unlike biopharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial biotechnology uses high volume processes to make products with low margins. Products made through industrial biotechnology include 1,3-propanediol, citric acid, biofuels, succinic acid, and itaconic acid.
