Many people working in biotechnology complete both a four year degree and a two year degree in biotechnology at a community college. Some students attend community college first and pick up lab skills that can help them while working on a four-year degree. Other students attend a community college after completing a four year degree, again, with the goal of obtaining hands-on lab skills. Ms. Watanabe discusses why she chose Southwestern College first before attending UCSD.
